Jennifer Anne Luckenbill, 42, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, died on February 10, 2026. She was born on February 1, 1984, to Jo Anne and Michael Luckenbill in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jo Anne, and her brother, Jonathan.
Jennifer was a gifted poet, a talented artist and crafter, and a voracious reader. She loved cooking meals to share with friends, hosting incredible parties, and playing board games. Jennifer was a beloved member of several Dungeons & Dragons groups, where she used her creative talents in numerous imaginative and hilarious ways.
A lover of different cultures and cuisines, Jennifer enjoyed taking classes and learning about different cultures, their food, and their history, making many friends as well as upping her culinary talents. She particularly enjoyed the classes she took and the friends she made at the Raindrop Turkish House in Oklahoma City.
Jennifer graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oklahoma City University in 2007, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in English, religion, and philosophy along with a minor in women’s studies. She studied abroad at St. Andrews University in Scotland, earning a Master of Letters in Women, Writing, and Gender in 2008, and completed a Master of Science in Library and Information Sciences at the University of North Texas in 2011. She also participated in Antioch College’s Comparative Women’s Studies in Europe study abroad program and traveled through Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, and Poland.
Always looking to learn more and expand her skills, Jennifer worked in a variety of industries. She served as a tutor, a freelance writer and editor, a service-learning coordinator for AmeriCorps, an assistant at the L’arche Heartland community for adults with disabilities, and interned at the Phil Johnson Historic Archives and Research Library. In recent years, Jennifer served as a team leader and trainer for a cutting-edge AI project. She also put her crafting skills to work as a partner in a small business.
Jennifer was a prolific writer of poetry and was published in a number of journals, including the Scarab Anthology, Poetry Breakfast, GlassFire Magazine, Entrances & Exits, and The Open Road. She also worked behind the scenes as an editor and reader for the Scarab Anthology, GlassFire Magazine, and Cease, Cows. She presented her poetry at numerous conferences, including the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society annual conference and the Scissortail Creative Writing Festival.
In spite of her many academic and career accomplishments, her greatest pride was in the friendships and the second family she cultivated. Always the first person to offer to host an event, cook a meal, or listen to a friend in need, she collected friends due to her sharp wit and deep love for those around her. She recently told a friend, “We don’t leave anyone behind,” and that is a sentiment that she personified. She will be deeply missed by her close friends and chosen family.
She is survived by her father, Michael Luckenbill of Oklahoma City, her two cats, Francis and Henry, and countless friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 8:00 – 10:00 P.M. at the Will Rogers Gardens Exhibition Center in Room 1. As part of the celebration, attendees are encouraged to bring poems or stories to share.

Excellent obituary which I had already started, but this is as good as it gets unless I missed it. The only thing to add would be a masters in library science when she got back from Saint Andrews at North Texas University. I will be there and thank you for this event.

I only knew Jennifer as a child but she sounds like a wonderful woman. Mike the hole in my heart is bigger hearing that Jennifer has joined JoAnne & Jonathon & my Jennifer. Her anniversary is on the 20th (40 yrs. gone) Just know You will be in my prayers forever.

Thank you Eric. I got to OKC when i retired in 2018.I spent every night with her as she worked .. over 2800 nights watching her work. At peace now.

Jennifer was a dear best friend to me during elementary school at Jefferson Elementary. She was one of the main reasons I fell in love with reading. Her heart was large and she took care to included those that felt left out! Condolences to her father.

Jennifer was a kind and incredibly intelligent person. I feel grateful to have met her, even though our interactions were only virtual. I will always remember her sense of humor, her love for cats, and how thoughtful and engaging our conversations were.

I just learned about Jennifer’s passing through Facebook and I am devastated. We’ve lost such a beautiful and bright light way too early. It had been a long time since we’d spoken but Jen was an incredible friend for many years. We studied together at St Andrews, and she was always such a warm, caring, and loving soul, and funny! I wish I’d reached out to reconnect sooner, I will miss her. Sending my love to her family and friends ❤️
